As a person who’s pinterest board is filled with exclusively wedding inspiration, the opportunity to host a stand at the One Fine Day Wedding Fair, was a dream come true.

In 2022, we (The Timber Yard) was the home of the event and this year (April 2023) we exhibited in our very own venue bringing our formidable sales team to the floor. We were given the opportunity to show couples how the space that was currently a stunning expo could become an elegant reception space, how the runway show would transform into a ceremony and how The Yard full of food trucks could become their cocktail hour, under the stars and hundreds of glistening festoon lights.

We like to do things differently at The Timber Yard and this year we made use of our phenomenal internal bar as our stand. This featured and highlighted the venues heritage and true timber style features.
The Timber Yard’s origins was an Australian family owned business that operated for almost 100 years, repurposing and refurbishing timber, something you can so obviously see in many features and details of our space. Our team today works so hard to preserve, highlight and celebrate this in the space and in the story we tell to each client and guest we meet.

Drawing on our existing lighting features and adding beautiful bright florals from our wonderful partner Green Space Melbourne, we started to bring the ‘bar meets expo stand’ to life. Continuing on we heroed some of our favorite memorable weddings on large canvases flown from the exposed beams above, reflecting moments of love and the creativity that each couple brought to the venue.

Having the opportunity to create the stand and represent The Timber Yard was a career highlight for me – just to be in and amongst the expo with so many other vendors that adore what they do, and all sharing the common goal of creating every couples dream day, was a privilege in itself.

It was a weekend filled with excitement and many congratulations. Hearing each person’s inspiration and vision for their wedding day only grew my ambition to see as many weddings come to life as possible and celebrate love daily.
