Can I bring my own catering or choose a cuisine that suits my family or culture?
Yes — our private party venue is fully flexible with catering. You’re welcome to bring your own caterer, whether it's family-style dishes, grazing tables, food trucks, or cultural menus. We also work with trusted Melbourne caterers if you’d prefer a curated package.
Is the venue suitable for milestone birthdays like 30th, 50th, or 60th celebrations?
Absolutely. Whether you’re planning a laid-back cocktail party, a themed celebration, or a formal dinner, our indoor and outdoor areas scale to suit any milestone. You can host speeches, live music, photo moments, or surprise entrances all in one flowing space.
Can we decorate the space to match a theme?
Definitely. Our rustic-industrial backdrop works with any aesthetic, from elegant florals to neon signage, balloon installations, cultural décor, or immersive themed setups. You're free to style it your way, and we can recommend suppliers if needed. We just ask that you discuss with our event organisers in case there are weight loading limits or restrictions with our heritage building.
Are there any restrictions with décor?
Yes. However, any heavy hung items need to be approved by our in-house AV company to ensure they are within our weight loading limits.
Will the venue be cleaned prior to the event?
Yes, a full pre-event venue clean is included in your venue hire fee
Do you have Wi-Fi available for the event?
Yes, we have a hard-wired & wireless connection to the venue, which provides 1,000 MBPS download and upload speeds.
Everyone at The Timber Yard were fantastic to deal with from Keiran in the sales process and then Taylah on event coordinating and the AV team especially Phil and Nathainel were incredible!
